Bhagavad Gita 3.29
Sanskrit
प्रकृतेर्गुणसम्मूढाः सज्जन्ते गुणकर्मसु । तानकृत्स्नविदो मन्दान्कृत्स्नविन्न विचालयेत् ॥3.29॥
Transliteration
prakṛterguṇasammūḍhāḥ sajjante guṇakarmasu | tānakṛtsnavido mandānkṛtsnavinna vicālayet ‖3.29‖
Meaning
“Those deluded by the gunas of nature are attached to the workings of the gunas. The knower of the whole should not unsettle the dull who know only the part.”
Key learning
Most people see life from inside their habits and feelings, and that's where they live right now. If you hand them a big, complete truth before they're ready, it can knock them over instead of helping. The kind thing is to be patient, not to tear down what someone still needs.
How to apply this today
Match the truth you share to what the person can handle. A teenager needs encouragement inside their dreams now; the bigger perspective can come later. A grieving friend needs you present, not a speech about how everything passes. Do this: keep your fuller view ready, but share it in small doses people can actually take in.
