Meaning
“Arjuna said: O Krishna, seeing my own kinsmen arrayed and eager to fight, my limbs give way and my mouth goes dry; my body trembles and my hair stands on end. The bow Gandiva slips from my hand, my skin burns all over; I cannot stand, and my mind seems to whirl.”
Key learning
Arjuna describes a full panic attack: dry mouth, shaking, weak legs, burning skin, his bow slipping, his mind spinning. The Gita's deep journey doesn't begin with strength, but with honest fear. And Arjuna names each feeling exactly. Naming what you feel is the first step of wisdom, because you can't deal with something you won't admit.
How to apply this today
When fear floods your body before a big talk, an interview, or a hard conversation, don't push it down or feel ashamed. Name it clearly. Take a minute to notice, "My chest is tight, my hands are cold, my mind is racing." Saying it plainly loosens its grip. Teach a nervous child the same: "Your tummy feels fluttery? That's just your body getting ready."
