Meaning

I am the taste in water, O son of Kunti, the radiance in the moon and sun, the sacred syllable Om in all the Vedas, the sound in ether, the manliness in men. I am the pure fragrance in earth, the brilliance in fire, the life in all beings, the austerity in ascetics. Know Me as the eternal seed of all beings, O Partha; I am the intelligence of the intelligent, the splendour of the splendid. I am the strength of the strong, free from desire and passion; in beings I am desire not contrary to dharma, O best of the Bharatas.
