Meaning

When the mind, restrained by the practice of yoga, becomes still, and when, seeing the Self by the self, one is content in the Self; when one knows that boundless joy which is grasped by the intellect beyond the senses, and established therein never departs from the truth; gaining which one thinks no other gain superior, and established wherein one is not shaken even by heavy sorrow, let that be known as yoga, the disconnection from union with pain. This yoga is to be practised with determination and an undespairing mind.
