Bhagavad Gita 18.59-60
Sanskrit
यदहङ्कारमाश्रित्य न योत्स्य इति मन्यसे । मिथ्यैष व्यवसायस्ते प्रकृतिस्त्वां नियोक्ष्यति ॥18.59॥स्वभावजेन कौन्तेय निबद्धः स्वेन कर्मणा । कर्तुं नेच्छसि यन्मोहात्करिष्यस्यवशोऽपि तत् ॥18.60॥
Transliteration
yadahaṅkāramāśritya na yotsya iti manyase | mithyaiṣa vyavasāyaste prakṛtistvāṃ niyokṣyati ‖18.59‖ svabhāvajena kaunteya nibaddhaḥ svena karmaṇā | kartuṃ necchasi yanmohātkariṣyasyavaśo'pi tat ‖18.60‖
Meaning
“If, taking refuge in egoism, you think ‘I will not fight,’ vain is this resolve of yours, nature will compel you. Bound by your own duty born of your nature, O son of Kunti, what from delusion you wish not to do, that you shall do even against your will.”
