Bhagavad Gita 17.5-6
Sanskrit
अशास्त्रविहितं घोरं तप्यन्ते ये तपो जनाः । दम्भाहङ्कारसंयुक्ताः कामरागबलान्विताः ॥17.5॥कर्षयन्तः शरीरस्थं भूतग्राममचेतसः । मां चैवान्तःशरीरस्थं तान्विद्ध्यासुरनिश्चयान् ॥17.6॥
Transliteration
aśāstravihitaṃ ghoraṃ tapyante ye tapo janāḥ | dambhāhaṅkārasaṃyuktāḥ kāmarāgabalānvitāḥ ‖17.5‖ karṣayantaḥ śarīrasthaṃ bhūtagrāmamacetasaḥ | māṃ caivāntaḥśarīrasthaṃ tānviddhyāsuraniścayān ‖17.6‖
Meaning
“Those who perform terrible austerities not enjoined by scripture, yoked to hypocrisy and egoism, impelled by the force of desire and passion, the mindless ones torturing the aggregate of elements in the body, and Me dwelling within the body, know them to be of demonic resolve.”
