Meaning

Therefore the acts of sacrifice, charity, and austerity of the expounders of Brahman always begin with the utterance of OM. With TAT, without aiming at fruit, are the various acts of sacrifice, austerity, and charity performed by the seekers of liberation. SAT is used for existence and for goodness; likewise, O Partha, the word SAT is used for any praiseworthy act. Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity, and charity is also called SAT; and action for the sake of That is verily termed SAT.
