Meaning
“The Blessed Lord said: One who hates not illumination, activity, and delusion when present, nor longs for them when absent; who, seated as one indifferent, is not shaken by the gunas, who stands firm knowing ‘the gunas alone operate’; alike in pleasure and pain, self-abiding, regarding a clod, a stone, and gold as the same, equal toward the dear and the undear, steadfast, equal to blame and praise of oneself; the same in honour and dishonour, the same to friend and foe, abandoning all undertakings, such a one is said to have transcended the gunas.”
