sarvadvāreṣu dehe'sminprakāśa upajāyate | jñānaṃ yadā tadā vidyādvivṛddhaṃ sattvamityuta ‖14.11‖ lobhaḥ pravṛttirārambhaḥ karmaṇāmaśamaḥ spṛhā | rajasyetāni jāyante vivṛddhe bharatarṣabha ‖14.12‖ aprakāśo'pravṛttiśca pramādo moha eva ca | tamasyetāni jāyante vivṛddhe kurunandana ‖14.13‖

Meaning

When the light of knowledge shines through all the gates of this body, then it should be known that sattva is dominant. Greed, activity, undertaking of actions, restlessness, longing, these arise when rajas is dominant, O best of Bharatas. Darkness, inertness, negligence, and delusion, these arise when tamas is dominant, O joy of the Kurus.
