Bhagavad Gita 2.15
Sanskrit
यं हि न व्यथयन्त्येते पुरुषं पुरुषर्षभ । समदुःखसुखं धीरं सोऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते ॥2.15॥
Transliteration
yaṃ hi na vyathayantyete puruṣaṃ puruṣarṣabha | samaduḥkhasukhaṃ dhīraṃ so'mṛtatvāya kalpate ‖2.15‖
Meaning
“That person whom these do not afflict, O best of men, the same in pain and pleasure, steadfast, is fit for immortality.”
Key learning
The person who isn't tossed around by every high and low, steady in both pleasure and pain, is the one who is truly free.
How to apply this today
Try to stay roughly the same person on a great day and a terrible one. Don't let praise inflate you or a setback crush you. That evenness, practiced daily, is real strength.
