Bhagavad Gita 2.10
Sanskrit
तमुवाच हृषीकेशः प्रहसन्निव भारत । सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये विषीदन्तमिदं वचः ॥2.10॥
Transliteration
tamuvāca hṛṣīkeśaḥ prahasanniva bhārata | senayorubhayormadhye viṣīdantamidaṃ vacaḥ ‖2.10‖
Meaning
“To him who sat despondent between the two armies, O Bharata, Krishna, as if smiling, spoke these words.”
Key learning
Krishna meets Arjuna's breakdown not with panic but with a faint smile, then begins to speak. A steady teacher can stay calm in your worst moment.
How to apply this today
When someone you're guiding falls apart, your calm matters more than your words. Meet a friend's crisis without catching their panic. And when you're the one breaking down, seek out the person who stays steady, not the one who spirals with you.
